“Autism in Shapes” is a project I worked in an effort to understand, not autism, BUT autistic people and the feelings they get from the rest of the world. The idea came to my mind when I met Milda Bandzaitė and heard their dissapointment with those people who don’t try to understand autistics but instead trying to “fix” them, put them in boxes and stereotypes of our society. I will call you to read their fantastic post on the subject “I’m not the one who needs to be fixed, it is You who is wrong!”
My first meeting though with Milda happened when they contacted me to share with the world their new book “The Girl Who Didn’t Know How To Be“.
Milda Bandzaitė is also an amazing artist. Please check out their portfolio : http://www.aiws.lt/
My work is influenced by the Greek artist (etcher) Thanasis Exarxopoulos, who through his images searches and tries to understand life and the world, to depict the paradox, the darkness, the fleeting..
I really hope you will like the work below and will spread the message…
Accept Autism.
Embrace their neurodiversity. You are different in their eyes too.
